The Gender and Disaster Network and the Natural Hazards Center are inviting nominations for the Mary Fran Myers Award 2012, until 16 April 2012. The award aims to recognise men and women who have sought to advance gender-sensitive policy, research or practice in the context of disaster risk reduction through their advocacy, research or management efforts, and who have had a lasting effect on reducing vulnerability to disasters. The award’s selection committee is particularly interested in nominations from outside the United States, and nominations of both men and women.
