Psychosocial partnerships

Danish Red Cross psychosocial programme in Meulaboh, Indonesia.

The Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support (PS centre) works with a wide range of partners, including nine National Red Cross Red Crescent Societies and four research institutions in the US, Austria, Denmark and England.

It also has partnerships with several United Nations organizations and non-governmental organizations through the Inter-Agency Standing Committee on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Reference group, the MHPS network and several other networks and partnerships.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the PS Centre continue to strengthen collaborations with agencies and institutions that have expertise in psychosocial support, including the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, UNHCR, and non-governmental organizations.

The PS Centre is developing relations with IFRC zonal offices, particularly in parts of the world where its involvement has been relatively low.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, with 189 member National Societies. As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, our work is guided by seven fundamental principles; humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
